ADVANCED RESUSCITATION COURSE

Course Validity

Valid Australia Wide

Purpose

This course is for currently for qualified Senior First Aid certificate holders who wish to upgrade their skills.

Target Audience

This training is suitable for individuals, companies and organisations, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to make them confident and competent to perform Advanced Resuscitation.

Format

A mixture of theoretical and practical elements, with at least 50% of time spent on practical skills.

Prerequisites

Be at least 16 years of age by the last scheduled session of the course.

Qualification issued

Statement of Attainment - Advanced Resuscitation

Legislative Authorisations

The course is nationally recognised through inclusion on the ANTA National Training Register.

Course Length

Approximately 4 - 6 hours

Requirements for Successful Course Completion

  • Attendance at all sections of the course is required.
  • Active participation in group activities and discussions involved in the training program.
  • Successfully complete progressive practical assessments. Progressive assessment of the competencies will be conducted throughout the course.
  • Successfully complete a multiple-choice theoretical assessment at the end of the course.

Certificate Validity

Approval valid for years (1) year from the completion date.

Recommended Class Size

  •  Minimum: 10
  • Maximum: 20


Notes Due to the practical components of the course, participants are advised to wear comfortable casual attire.

It is recommended the CPR component of the course be updated yearly either in a Senior First Aid Refresher Course or in a Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Refresher Course.
